Beware of the Hotel 'Fee-for-All'
(ST. LOUIS, MO) – July 2, 2009 - When it comes to outrageous extra charges, hotels are becoming the new airlines. According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, many hotel chains are tacking on additional costs that were once considered inclusive. From mandatory housekeeping gratuities to resort fees (even if a guest does not use the hotel pool), unexpected hotel charges are increasing at an alarming rate.
Drury Hotels, a family-owned and operated hotel system based in St. Louis, MO, recently assured their guests that they will not be adding any extra charges. In an e-mail sent to current customers, Drury President and CEO, Chuck Drury, stated that Drury Hotels has no intention of following the recent ‘fee-for-all’ in the hotel industry.
“In fact,” says Drury, “we will continue to include our many free extras at every Drury Hotel.”
Drury Hotels offers several free amenities in their rates, including free HOT! breakfast, free evening beverages, free wireless Internet, free local and long distance calls, free popcorn & soda and more. Their mantra, The Extras Aren’t Extra®, has contributed to their high customer ratings in numerous hotel guest satisfaction surveys, including those conducted by Market Metrix and J.D. Power and Associates.
The Drury Inn & Suites brand has been recognized for three consecutive years by J.D.
