Local Area

Bearizona

Bearizona is a drive-through wildlife park at the base of the San Francisco Peaks in nearby Williams, Arizona. See the animals: bison, big horn sheep, wolves, bears and goats — live on the range as they would be in the wild!

Lowell Observatory

Steele Visitors Center at Lowell Observatory on Mars Hill offers guided daytime tours, films and rotating astronomy exhibits, but the main attractions are the many telescopes on campus at night — including one that discovered Pluto.

Northern Arizona University

Located in downtown Flagstaff at the base of the San Francisco Peaks in the Kaibab National Forest, Northern Arizona University’s campus has six campus museums and hosts concerts, community events and festivals throughout the year.

Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon’s South Rim is an easy day trip from downtown Flagstaff. Guided tours can be reserved by shuttle bus, mule, hiking or river trips, or the adventurous can hike or bike the marked trails on their own.
